Things To Do in Bengtsfors

    Go Canoeing

    Lake Lelång next to the hotel is one of the largest lakes in the area and is ideal for canoeing and kayaking. The clear and deep lake also has plenty of exciting fishing sites – some places north call for a separate fishing license.

    Our partners Silverlake and Bootshaus offer canoes and kayaks for hire at Lake Lelång. Bengtsfors also offers many other lakes and waterways for you to explore.

    Dalslands Activities

    At Dalslands Activities, you’ll find a large and diverse selection of experiences and adventures for all ages and sizes.

    What about going fishing in one of the 1100 rivers in Dalsland? Or horseback riding on a horse or pony? You can also try indoor rope climbing, the zip line or high-rope activities. The possibilities are endless and you’re definitely in for lots of fun!

    Dal-Västra Värmlands Järnvägs

    Try a pedal-powered rail bike and go on an adventure into Bengtsfors’ stunning nature. Here, you’ll experience varied landscapes, unspoiled forests, large and small lakes and one beautiful view after another. Great activity and experience for a lifetime. The entire tour is 50 km and you can combine the rail bike with canoeing.

    You can also take the railbus over the aqueduct in Håverud, Dalslands most visited tourist attraction.

    Gammelgården

    Gammelgården Open-Air Museum Bengtsfors

    Go back in time at Gammelgården in Bengtsfors, West Sweden’s largest open-air museum. Small cottages from all around Dalsland have been moved here to show how the people of Dalsland used to live and work. Gammelgården is located at Majbjerget and offers spectacular views and nature. You’ll also find a fun activity track called SFL (search, find and smile), perfect for all ages.

    Bengtsfors and the surrounding areas offer plenty of hiking opportunity. Whether you’re into small hikes and walking tours or longer, more challenging hikes, you’ll find something for you.  

    Try these three hiking trails that you also can combine to one long tour:

    • Grean Furnäs  is 8.6 km
    • Sundet Djupviken is 6.5 km
    • Djupviken Dalarna is 9.1 km

    Egersknatten is about 2,5 km long, and you can enjoy a beautiful view overlooking Lake Lelång. A perfect activity for a family with younger children.
