A short drive from Billingehus you find Hornborgasjön, one of Europe's most important bird lakes. Every year the period between the middle of March and a bit in April, tens of thousands of cranes gather here to eat, dance and rest on their way from Spain to northern Sweden.

About the cranedance:

The spectacle when the cranes bend, make air jumps and circles around each other is truly a unique experience that has to be experienced on site.

Ofcourse you can see more birds than cranes. In the spring there are also plenty of geese, song habits, ducks and many other interesting bird species.

At Trandansen there are plenty of parking spaces, excellent viewpoints, an information building with tran exhibition, tourist information, souvenir sales and a simple dining. During certain weekends there are also savvy bird hosts on site that answer questions about birdlife at Hornborgasjön.
