Witness the world’s largest privately-owned collection of guitars at Guitars – the museum. Every rock, blues or jazz fan’s idea of heaven, the museum contains more than 500 electric guitars, mostly from 1950s-1960s.

With seven floors of striking architecture, Bildmuseet boosts with phenomenal exhibitions about national and international contemporary art and events for the entire family. Entrance is free.

Even the building itself can be considered art. Designed by Henning Larsen Architects, the museum is admired all across the world and has been named one of the world’s most beautiful university museums.

For more than 40 years, Norrlandsoperan in central Umeå has welcomed people from near and far. Originally founded as a regional opera ensemble, it has evolved to a performing arts house with a broad range of activities – still with a regional touch.
